Gas Spring

CS2 series: BDC lock function type

CS2 series (locking cylinder)
Controllable Nitrogen Gas Spring Tanker Cylinder with Bottom Dead Center (BDC) Locking
A high-performance model that realizes blank holder holding and forming process timing control
●Two locking methods available
Standard Lock: Maximum 1mm return
Positive Lock (CS2+PS): Zero springback achieved by linking with PS passive spring
1. Gas spring that can be locked at BDC (bottom dead center)
When the press reaches the bottom dead center, the piston rod is locked in that position.
The lock is controlled by a valve at the bottom of the gas spring and compressed air (minimum 4 bar).

2. Return stroke is controlled by air pressure
Cylinder return is controlled by releasing the pressure
When the valve is opened, gas flows between the upper and lower chambers, and the rod returns to its original position.

3. Use: Holding blank holder during molding
Holds the blank holder at the bottom dead center position to prevent deformation
When you want to temporarily fix a molded part to make it easier to transport.
(It allows for "holding timing control" that is not possible with normal gas springs.)

4. Two types of locking systems
●Standard Lock
Springback of up to 1mm occurs
Practical locking performance sufficient for many applications
Full stroke use is required (ensuring locking accuracy)
●Positive Lock System (CS2+PS)
Connect CS2 and PS (Passive Spring) with a valve block
Achieves 0mm (zero) springback
Used in areas where precise holding is required

5. CS2 Series Specifications
Four models: 1500/3000/5000/7500
Contact force: 1.6 to 8.4 tons
Stroke: 4mm to 160mm
This is an extremely wide setting range that can accommodate complex press forming.

6. Operating Principle
Nitrogen gas chamber with two upper and lower chambers (Upper/Lower Chamber)
Non-return valve (Gas flow control) inside the piston rod
Bottom-located Normally-Open (NO) cartridge valve
● Locking operation
1. When reaching bottom dead center
2. The valve closes
3. Gas backflow is suppressed and the rod cannot return → Lock complete
●Unlock operation
1. Open the valve
2. Gas flows between the upper and lower chambers
3. The rod returns to its original position.

7. Examples of CS2 Series Applications
Temporarily fix the blank holder to "press the blank locally to improve forming accuracy"
Baby blank holder and pad control
Controlling the timing of removal without crushing the molded product
Pad extension and fixing when multiple processes are performed with one press stroke
(Example: Two-stage molding achieved in one stroke)

TNKT series: Full-hide structure, high durability, high output type

TNKT (Tanker T) series
Full-height, highly durable, and high-power nitrogen gas spring tanker cylinder
Patented dynamic lubrication system and bore seal structure
Also compatible with piping connections via SEA-4 port

1. Nitrogen gas spring with a "bore seal structure" that is resistant to contamination
Adopts a structure that seals on the cylinder bore side, not the rod side
High contamination resistance that allows operation to continue even if the rod is scratched

2. Patented Dynamic Lubrication System
Equipped with HYSON's patented dynamic lubrication system
Internal lubrication with every press stroke
Reduces wear and heat buildup, extending life

3. Full Height Cylinder
A full-height model, a pair with the Tanker S (short) series
Highly versatile and suitable for harsh press environments

4. Piping (hose) connection possible
Equipped with SAE-4 (7/16-20) port
Multiple cylinders can be connected with hoses for remote charging.

5. High durability
Durability test proves over 1,000,000 strokes

6. Self-aligning piston rod that is resistant to side loads (unbalanced loads)
The rod itself is self-aligning
Resistant to loads caused by minute mold movements and uneven loads

7. TNKT Series Lineup
TNKT-1000X25
TNKT-1000X50
TNKT-1000X75
TNKT-1000X100
etc

8. Commonalities between the models
Initial force (e.g., 2165 lbf)
Stroke length (0.63 in to 7.87 in)
End force at full stroke (3710–3935 lbf)

T3T series: Compact, high output, optimized for piping use

T3T Series
A compact, high-output nitrogen gas spring tanker cylinder optimized for piping (hose) connections.
Compact rod seal type with G1/8 port
Ideal for mold applications where multiple cylinders are connected by hoses

1. Compact, high-power type (small diameter, large force)
A compact and high-output structure among the Tanker series
Although the bore diameter is not as large as the Tanker T/S, it delivers high output suitable for small molds and space-saving press processes.

2. G1/8 port suitable for hose piping (T3T's greatest feature)
Standard equipped with G1/8 port suitable for piping use
Multiple gas springs can be connected with hoses, allowing remote pressure adjustment.
Optimized for piping of smaller molds than TNKT (SAE-4 port)

3. Rod-sealed nitrogen gas spring
Rod seal type (common to T series)
The rod is sealed, allowing for a smaller size.
Ideal for use with small molds
*TNKT/TNKS have high contamination resistance due to the bore seal type. T3T has a different structure.

4. Small diameter body and low overall height (compact design)
The smallest height in the Tanker series
Easy to incorporate into space-saving molds and complex layouts

5. Compatible with Tanker series
T3T cylinder is compatible with TNKT (Tanker T) cylinder
*Can be replaced as an option in terms of size and use

6. Main Uses
When high output is required for a small mold
When a piping connection using a G1/8 hose is required
When you want to reduce overall height and increase layout freedom
When a long stroke and high output are required, but you want to make it smaller than TNKT
(Tanker T/Tanker S are optimized for large molds, while T3T is optimized for high-output applications in small to medium-sized molds)

Manifold system

 Gas Spring Manifold Systems
Multiple nitrogen gas springs can be connected with a manifold (common block)
A system that manages pressure and pressure with one centralized control point
Uniform force, low pressure rise, and high-quality press molding

1. Uniform force (output)
Pressure sharing within the manifold
The output of each gas spring is distributed evenly
The die pad pressure is uniform, resulting in stable press quality.

2. Improved maintainability
Manage pressure and pressure in one place
Easy troubleshooting
Improved serviceability
Reduced downtime

3Compact structure
Gas springs are connected to each other inside the manifold block without using hoses or external piping.
Significantly reduces installation space
Space-saving compared to conventional hose piping multi-cylinder system

4. Highly customizable
Fully custom-designed to meet user specifications, including force, stroke, manifold shape, and setting position.

5. Improved safety
Centrally controlled pressure
Manifold controls pressure even when a problem occurs
*Made under the design concept of "Genuinely Hyson Safety"

6. HYSON Manifold Series
● 2175 Series
Highest strength and durability
High stain resistance and rigidity
Full Height Model
● 2000 Series
Wide range of diameters, tonnages and strokes
General-purpose manifold cylinder
● 1500 Series
As above, it supports various specifications
Can be adjusted to suit the pressing process

7. How the manifold system works
Lower pressure rise (10–15%) than mechanical springs
Self-lubrication and dispersion control improve quality and reduce scrap
More stable force than air cushion
Save space and lower costs
Improved material draw/formability due to no 65% force increase like conventional gas springs

8. The difference between manifolds and gas springs
