This series (R-Series V/5th generation) is a high-precision, high-durability product line employing magnetostrictive absolute position sensors, and the measurement principle and basic performance (resolution, linearity, output interface, etc.) are common to all models.

The differences between each model are not in performance, but mainly in structure and suitability for the installation environment. Therefore, when selecting a product, it is important to choose based on conditions such as mounting method (internal/external), operating environment (high temperature, vibration, water, dust, etc.), and installation space, rather than comparing performance.

Regarding stroke length, only the RF5 (flexible type) is a long-length model capable of handling up to 20,000mm, while the other models, RH5, RP5, RD5, and RM5, all share a common maximum stroke length of approximately 7,620mm.
Therefore, it is important to understand that the differences between the models are not due to stroke performance, but rather to differences in mechanical design and adaptability to the surrounding environment.

Furthermore, the RD5 is the latest model with a structure that separates the electronic components, and is positioned as the successor to the conventional RDV. The sensor rod and electronic components can be installed up to 20m apart, making it suitable for use in high-temperature environments (up to approximately 120°C) and confined spaces, and also improving maintainability.
Similarly, while the RM5 boasts high IP68/IP69 waterproof and dustproof specifications, its internal measurement capabilities are based on the RH5, positioning it as a derivative model with enhanced environmental resistance.

In practical terms, the basic approach to selection is to first consider the standard model, RH5, as a baseline, and only select derivative models such as RP5, RD5, RM5, and RF5 if there are installation conditions that prevent its direct application (e.g., external mounting required, space constraints, high-temperature environments, high levels of water or dust, or the need for long-distance measurement).

This series consists of "variations of a single high-performance sensor optimized for different applications and environments," and the most important point in selecting the optimal model is to clarify the structure and operating conditions.
